I am a definitely a pantser. Sure, I have the gist of what the novel is going to be about, but basically it's a let me start typing and see what happens type of situation. I like to see where I find myself as my ideas start flowing then I start putting them together and making sense of them. Where did you the inspiration for Sunset Reads?
My inspiration came for my best friend Layla. I wanted to give her a hero worthy of her love. Instead of the charming William, I gave her a dirty talking Damian who knows exactly what buttons to press to drive her insane with anger and lust. From that, there started a whirlwind of FBI action, second chances, and passionate love. Is this book part of a series?
Yes, this is the second in the Sunset Reads series.
What is your daily page count or word count record?
I have never really counted, I want to say I have written a good twenty pages in one sitting. Please tell us a little about your book.
The book takes place a year after the events of William & Cristina. There's a new villain in town that wants to get their hands on Sunset Reads. Damian Trent is called to NY on assignment. The problem is that he's also come back for Layla Reece- Cristina's best friend. He left her without a word and now finds himself working closely with her. Layla is finally getting her life back, until Damian returns. Now she finds herself in danger and the only protection she has is with Damian.
Who is your favorite author of all time?
My favorite author of all time is Jane Austen. She was an inspiration to all women of that time and to this day. What are you working on at the moment?
The third novel in the Sunset Reads series, Sebastian & Daisy. I wanted to make their story fun and full of vulnerability. Sebastian is one of my favorite smooth-talking males. He's perfectly slick in ever way, with his surfer boy looks and secy British accent. He's so much fun to write.
Title: Sunset Reads: Damian & Layla
Author: D.C. Triana
Genre: Romantic Suspense
It’s been one year since Agent Damian Trent left for Washington without a word.
One year since he’s seen her beautiful face.
One year since he’s heard his name on her lips.
He’s been recently called back to New York City on assignment, to catch a criminal who’s trying to infiltrate Sunset Reads. The last thing he expects is to work side by side with the woman he turned his back on.
Having her close is an unwanted distraction that he’s more than willing to ignore, if only she wasn’t so damn tempting.
Everything seems under control, until a night of feverish passion has him abandoning all thoughts of reason. Now, he will do everything in his power to get her back, and even more so to protect her.
Layla Reece wants nothing to do with the man who left her a year ago.
The man who took her heart with him, leaving her broken.
After a year of trying to forget Damian Trent, she is finally ready to move on.
But trying to forget him becomes a tedious task when he suddenly reappears in her life.
Although she fights to stay away, his magnetism is too strong and she finds herself giving into the deep timbre of his voice, and the strength and safety of his arms.
Staying away from Damian turns out to be futile, especially when his kisses consume her and his heart shatters the walls she spent so much time building.
Finding herself in danger, she now has to turn to the only man she trusts to keep her safe, but can she trust him enough to give him her heart once again?
